Fishing camp campers are able to learn about the skill, fun and serenity that come along with fishing. The week begins with on-land instruction where campers learn about how to tie lures, how to cast a line and which fish can be found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The campers then use their new skills to try fishing on the Patuxent River from the pier. Mid-week, Weather Permitting, they have the opportunity to go on fishing boats out on the Patuxent River or spend time kayak fishing. Campers spend additional time on learning and refining fishing skills, and the week finishes off with the fun of crabbing from the boat launch area. In addition to all the fishing, campers will also have the opportunity to play field games. Each week a chance to make S’mores. The week ends with “Tie-Dye Friday” for a take-home memory of the week at camp.
