In this experiential program, students will learn how to create impactful images and tell stories with the lens, turning their pictures into art. Through instructor led excursions on and off campus, students will be introduced to the basics of photography: framing, composition, exposure and editing. There will be plenty of freedom to experiment with different technologies and capture pictures daily to begin their journey into photography. No previous experience is necessary. Introductory and advanced students will be encouraged to develop or practice their technique, observation and concepts. Though not necessary, participants are welcome to bring their own cellphone or digital camera. Weather appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing should be worn for outdoor periods. Participants need to bring a nut-free snack and refillable water bottle each day.
