About This Activity
Students will explore the joy of dance through creative movement with an emphasis on learning the basics of ballet. Daily activities will include a stretch, barre exercises, across the floor movement, creative improvisation and choreography. Students will learn dance technique and fundamentals with games, music and dance props. The final class will feature a short dance performance for families to attend. *Dancewear is encouraged but not required, however ballet or athletic shoes need to be worn while dancing. Students who wear dance attire should be prepared to change footwear and clothing for their lunch and outdoor period. Participants need to bring a nut-free lunch, snack and refillable water bottle each day.
