This workshop will introduce students to various genres of writing in both fiction and non-fiction. Students will explore memoirs, life-writing, journaling, short stories, poetry and prose through daily lectures and individual instructional feedback. Daily prompts and fun activities will help young writers find their voice and create a final piece for sharing/keeping toward the end of the workshop. This workshop provides a safe and friendly forum for self-reflection, refinement of personal philosophy, confidence building and public speaking. Both individual and team projects are encouraged for collaborative creative work. This course is taught by local award-winning and critically acclaimed poetess, author, writer and realist painter, and strategy/life consultant and coach Kamlika Chandla.
