About This Activity
Each day students join fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman, adventurer and Blake fourth grade teacher Don Quinn for this survival skills class. Topics include finding food and water, building shelter, basic first aid, attaining warmth and keeping cool, and most importantly working as a team to enjoy the outdoors during a series of field trips and excursions. Campers will learn to start a fire, find food from plants, track animals, build shelters, fish and much more. Participants should be prepared for outdoor adventures during this exciting and informative camp! Weather appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing should be worn. Participants need to bring a nut-free snack and refillable water bottle in a backpack or bag suitable for hiking and travel each day.
