This workshop focuses on the traditional methods of painting in oil. Students are introduced to the three methods of painting; direct, indirect (Flemish/Dutch) and Alla Prima! Students will learn about the materials, color mixing, light and form, academic principles of hue, value and chroma and discuss eminent art pieces/artists/history. Classical drawing (also taught by Kamlika ) is a good segway into painting. This course is taught by local award-winning and critically acclaimed poetess, author, writer and realist painter and strategy/life consultant and coach, Kamlika Chandla. This French Academism (19th century) and Atelier Approach (15th to 17th century) series is broken down into several classes to give students the opportunity to learn new techniques and time for daily practice, artist demonstrations, and individual critique sessions.
