New Class Alert! This semester, students will bring characters to life through the art of visual storytelling in this design-focused course. By stepping into the role of a theatrical costume designer, students master character concept development without needing to sew. The curriculum covers analyzing scripts to decode a character's personality, learning basic figure sketching, and using color psychology to evoke emotion. Students also explore texture and fabric matching to build a custom swatch library. By the end of the course, each participant compiles these elements into a professional-style Design Portfolio Book complete with mood boards, colored costume plates, and fabric samples. No prior drawing or sewing experience is required!
