FPCTA’s Youth Acting Workshop is a combination of theatre training and performance experience. In this class, actors will learn the process of staging a play while exploring different acting techniques and exercises. Students will learn how to audition for a play and go through the process of rehearsing, blocking, and memorizing lines, culminating in a formal final performance in the theatre. The Audition by Don Zolidis is a comedic one-act play about the chaotic and hilarious process of high school theater auditions, centered around a new teacher's ambitious production of A Chorus Line. The play features a large, flexible cast of quirky student hopefuls, overbearing parents, and a frazzled stage manager, exploring themes of insecurity, dreams, and finding one's voice through a series of farcical audition scenes.
