12 Days of Fun, Learning, and Creativity! The ALA's Waypoint Mini Summer Camp Series is an accessible, three-week summer program structured to maximize engagement for neurodiverse, differently-abled, and underserved scholars (elementary-aged). To provide predictability and ensure the experience is not overly demanding, the camp runs a short-day schedule, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants spend significant time outdoors, engaging with nature while benefiting from a low staff-to-camper ratio, a high-quality experience that is often rare for underserved students. This creates a close-knit feel and provides the individual attention needed for growth. Each week is built around a distinct theme, driving a mix of hands-on learning, S.T.E.A.M. activities, and social-emotional growth. Core to the experience is a friendly, team-based competition that encourages camaraderie and participation, complemented by weekly dress-up days and time for free exploration. Older students serve as Teen Leaders (Jr. Guides), leading activities, fostering strong relationships, and mentoring younger campers, ensuring every participant develops essential collaboration, problem-solving, and social skills within a supportive, stable, and exciting environment.
