Become a Junior Indiana Master Naturalist! This camp is for enthusiastic, nature-loving children ages 9-12 who wish to obtain their Indiana Junior Master Naturalist Certification through the Indiana DNR. Campers will learn alongside experts in multiple fields and gain hands on experience in the natural resources.
Campers will assume the role of a naturalist by observing and recording the natural world. In this camp, we will have the opportunity to meet experts in multiple fields, including introductory lessons on botany, water, soils, herpetology, and ornithology. This camp is meant to inspire the nature loving child to take action and protect wild spaces through environmental stewardship.
In order to obtain their Indiana Master Naturalist Certification, campers will participate in 6 hours of hands-on service which may include removing invasive plants, picking up litter, or other projects while under supervision of camp counselors.
This camp is at the Ornithology Center.
Please apply sunscreen and bug spray before drop-off. Wear good walking shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Bring extra clothes and a water bottle each day. Please pack a non-refrigerated lunch and snack each day. Please inform us of any allergies!
Day Camp Refund Policy
Indy Parks will issue a full refund if the camp is cancelled.
A $15 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. The $15 is not refundable or transferable, and applies to all Indy Parks camps.
For campers withdrawing from Garfield Arts Camp, Southeastway, Eagle Creek, or Holliday, notice must be received two weeks prior to the first day of camp. If the camper is withdrawn less than two weeks prior to first day of camp, only 50% of your costs will be refunded.
If a medical emergency occurs after the two-week deadline, a refund less the $15 service charge will be issued. A written note is required from a physician for medical emergencies.
A refund may be requested at the park where the program will be held or by contacting Customer Service, 317-327-7275.
All refunds could take up to six to eight weeks.
