Join a park naturalist at the Pagoda for an evening of learning about and observing the Chimney Swift bird colony that lives at the Art Center. Bring your picnic blankets, chairs and snacks and hang out with us as we watch the colony start their summer evening rituals and learn about conservation efforts for these majestic little birds.
Program will be held outside at the park Pagoda shelter.
Please register by Thursday, August 19th at 12 noon.
While this event is being hosted by the Conservatory staff, it will take place at the Garfield Park Pagoda. This event will involve viewing the Chimney Swift colony that lives in the Arts Center chimneys, which can be viewed from the Pagoda. To access the Pagoda, please enter the Park off of Southern Ave. and turn left towards the Burrello Family Center, you will see the Pagoda on your right, shortly after turning left. This is an outdoor event and will occur unless there is a threat of severe thunder storms and it is no longer safe to be outside. In the case of severe weather, the event will be cancelled and participants will be refunded. Customers will not be refunded if they don't show up, due to light rain and the event is still held. Bring your own folding chair(s) or blankets, binoculars and snacks.
