Bring your fantastic stories to life, one frame at a time! Whether you're a beginner looking to explore the world of filmmaking or an experienced teen seeking a portfolio project, this class offers a fun and comprehensive introduction to the art of Moviemaking. You’ll gain hands-on experience in key areas of video production, including storytelling, directing, camera operation, acting, lighting, sound, and editing.
In this class, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with peers to create a film in your chosen genre, whether it’s fiction, documentary, art film, or something else. You’ll learn how to make intentional creative choices in areas like camera angles, transitions, color, soundtracks, and titling, all while working as part of a movie crew.
All supplies are provided and the Indy Art Center provides all the equipment and studio space you’ll need. If you have your own camera or specialized gear, feel free to bring them along, and we’ll help you learn to use them to their full potential.
Moviemaking is a dynamic and rewarding collaborative process that has the potential to foster lasting friendships along the way. Most importantly, we’ll have a blast creating a movie in just 14 hours!
