Instructor: Kids Connect Coordinator Jackie Smith This leadership camp is designed for responsible, enthusiastic Orchard students (4th–8th grade) who are eager to work alongside Owlet Camp facilitator Jackie Smith and her team of counselors as they lead weekly Owlet Preschool Camps. The Owlet Camp Compadres Program offers a hands-on leadership experience for current Orchard students who enjoy working with preschool-aged children (3-6 years old). Compadres will assist Jackie and her counselors in leading themed activities, games, arts and crafts, cooking projects, and more. They will also help supervise Owlet campers during camp hours, snack times, and outdoor activities, and may be asked to assist with camp preparation, specific activities, and clean-up. Importantly, Compadres will never be left alone with campers without adult supervision. Through this program, we hope each Owlet Camp Compadre will develop valuable leadership skills, build confidence, foster teamwork, and cultivate empathy while supporting Jackie and her team in guiding our youngest campers. Program Criteria: Must be a current Orchard student in good standing, willing to follow Orchard’s Code of Conduct Hours: Owlet Camp Compadres will be expected to work from 8:45 am to 12:15 each morning during this 2 week period. Note: This is an earlier start time and slightly extended morning camp time. Mandatory attendance at our Pre-Camp Orientation/Training in late May
