Instructor: Kids Connect Coordinator Jackie Smith This is a TWO WEEK morning camp. Hear ye, hear ye! Join this camp if you wish to travel back in time and explore the Medieval Ages. Each day, campers will begin by pulling a sword from the stone to see who will become the King, Queen, Prince, and/or Princess and rule the kingdom for the day. All other campers will be assigned a castle role—ranging from Butler and Cupbearer to Page and Squire—by the Castle Steward and will attend Medieval School. As campers master the skills needed for their roles, they will earn jewels from the treasury. Campers who earn enough jewels during Week 1 will advance from Page to Squire to Knight or Dame and will be “dubbed” by the reigning King and/or Queen during a special ceremony at the start of Week 2. Newly dubbed Knights and Dames will receive their own tabard emblazoned with a coat of arms, a sword belt, and a sword—and will be invited to participate in Week 2’s Royal Tournament, where they will show off their knightly skills before the royal court. Feasting and celebration will follow! HOOZAH! In the second week, campers will take part in the Dubbing of Knights and Dames, followed by a Royal Tournament and Celebration. Camp tuition includes a materials fee.
