Description
Introduce your son or daughter to the wonders of hot air ballooning at our day camp held during the 2025 National Balloon Classic in Indianola. Flying High! offers a behind-the-scenes adventure into the world of hot air ballooning. Participants will learn the history of ballooning, the basic science of how balloons operate, and other important factors in piloting a balloon. This camp offers a unique opportunity for hands-on activities and learning with licensed balloon pilots, and experienced crew members.
Camp activities will take place at the Memorial Balloon Field from 9:00am - Noon each day. Transportation will be provided from the balloon field to the Indianola Wellness Campus midday for more fun, balloon-themed and recreational activities in the afternoon. Parents may pick up their students at the Indianola Wellness Campus at 4:00pm or before. Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day and a swimming suit and towel.
Each participant will receive a 2025 camp t-shirt and two passes to an evening at the National Balloon Classic.
For students entering Grades 2 through 6 in the Fall of 2025.All activities at the balloon field will be subject to weather conditions. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals).

We ask that child cell phones remain turned off and stored safely in bags during camp activities. This is to ensure everyone's full participation and focus. Phones that are found being used during instruction and activities or phones that become a distraction may be confiscated for the duration of the camp day.
