About This Activity
In this 2-day hands-on workshop, we will create a simple hollow wall-mounted box form that will become our ‘canvas’ for experimenting with a variety of decorative surface techniques. We will create individual silk-screens which can be used to print directly onto clay with colored underglazes or onto newsprint to create our own transfers. We will use paper and tyvek stencils to layer these patterns and images along with sgraffito and slip-trailing techniques to develop rich and interesting surface designs.
