About This Activity
For the duration of this camp, the instructor would educate the youngins on necessary pirate skills. The skills practiced will include some of the following: Pirate name (Pick a cool name for yourself, we'll address you by it) Introduction to sword fighting (not with real swords) Conflict mediation (how to avoid getting into a sword fight) Synchronization and teamwork (Fight/sing together, find rhythm and learn value of your comrades) Sea shanties Treasure hunting (Find clues scattered around the foundation, ending in a treasure chest tucked away somewhere) Map making Pirate name (Pick a cool name for yourself, we'll address you by it) Sword fighting Balance and footwork (Got to trip up your opponent) Conflict mediation Rivalry 101 (Let the pirates in training pair off to be "rivals," be sparring partners and easy pairing off for activities) Teamwork and synchronization Sea shanties Escape plans Treasure hunting Map making
