About This Activity
Description
Four days camp! 9 am-3:30 pm.Teens will learn survival skills through hands on experience out in the woods. They will leave knowing a wide variety of outdoor survival skills like survival preparation, shelter engineering, fire science and safety, treating water, orienteering, pocketknife use & safety, and more! Plus, at the end of the camp they will get the chance to do a survival challenge where they will pack in & out to a wild location in the park to see if they could survive in a survival situation with only what they can bring in a day pack! The whole class is supervised by EcoElsa staff and builds off the knowledge from our youth & family survival classes or any other basic survival skills class. The skills are not only great for a lost/survival situation but also for camping and outdoor excursions as well as teaching teens’ confidence, self-reliance, teamwork, and problem solving.
Kids will need to bring their own lunch. Make sure to dress for the weather! We'll be outside and off trail in some areas, so please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, long pants, and closed-toe-shoes.
