Social Isolation, Loneliness & Depression in Seniors: Local & International Perspectives on Causes and Prevention Loneliness has been described as one of the “new epidemics” in the U.S. This presentation and discussion will describe the relationships and differences between social isolation, loneliness and depression, providing local and international examples of the contributing factors as well as ways to prevent or address social isolation and loneliness in seniors.
