About This Activity
Description
Pass, Set, Hit! The Iowa City Parks and Recreation is offering an instructional sand volleyball program for youth ages 9-12. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals such as underhand serving, setting, and passing in a fun and positive environment.
Covid 19- The Iowa City Parks and Recreation will be taking the necessary precautions while conducting this program in order to keep all participants as safe as possible. Precautions will include but not limited to; sanitizing all equipment before use, taking temperature of instructors and participants at check-in, limiting class size to maintain proper distancing, requiring instructor to wear masks, and providing hand sanitizer throughout practice.
Equipment: Volleyballs will be provided. As noted above, all equipment will be sanitized prior to each practice.
Court Location: The sand volleyball court is located at lower city park just north of the pond next to shelter number 8. Parking is available in the main parking lot across from bocce courts.
Water Bottles: All participants are strongly encouraged to bring a water bottles.
Bathrooms: Although bathrooms are open at City Park they are not close to court.
Cancellations: Cancellations due to weather or wet fields will be posted on the ICPRD Rainout Line at least 1-hour prior to the start of lessons. Participants are encouraged to register to receive cancellation emails or text messages. To sign up to receive cancellation message, visit www.icgov.org/pr click on “event cancellations” located on the right side. This will take you to the Rainout Line. On the left side click on “email & text alerts”. Please select “Rec Div Sand Volleyball”, ext #23.
