About This Activity
Fairy Tales experienced through the power of STEAM! Using science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), students will investigate some of their favorite stories. Students will be actively engaged in their learning! We will explore The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Little Red Hen through science, technology, engineering, art and math. Our highlight will be our engineering projects. We will help the Three Billy Goats Gruff safely get past the Troll. We will be a good friend to the Little Red Hen and help her to transport items needed to make her bread. The stories will come to life as we experience them through the power of STEAM! The students will understand each component of a primary version of the Engineering Process: ask, imagine, plan, create and improve. In addition to the engineering projects, we will be exploring these fairy tales through a variety of art mediums, hands-on-math activities, exciting science experiments and we will document our adventures using a variety of apps on student iPads.
