This Group is for Kids ages 8-11 who have been exposed to the language significatively through our Colega classes, immersion schools or relatives who speak the language. Kids need to be assessed to be in this level so please contact us to schedule the assessment. Hello My Name is Malala/Hola Me llamo Malala At Camp Lango we believe kids need to learn about the people that make a difference in the world. They can be inspirations for our future citizens. This is the first time we get to talk about a living character, so it’s a great opportunity to practice the present tense and basic descriptive adjectives. Malala represents every girl and woman in the world whose rights and lives have been on the line. She became the voice of girls in Pakistan who one day were denied the right vote, dance, watch television and movies or listen to music. As a child Malala loved learning and going to school. Lucky for her, and much like the wonderful Frida Khalo we studied last year, she had a father who encouraged her to learn and taught her she could accomplish anything. Malala writes a blog for the British Broadcasting Corporation and her voice is heard by the entire world. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. She once said, "When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful."
