Come get mindful and expland your creativity with Ms. Ellen! No art experience or talent is required for this program. The goal of Art and Wellness Journaling is to help students learn more about themselves through creative expression. Students will have the opportunity to learn about their emotions, their strengths, and their peer relationships through thoughtful art and writing activities. Students will utilize their journals as a way to reflect, create, and keep track of their own healthy habits and coping skills. Students will also be encouraged to create strong peer connections and support with the group context and gain a better understanding of how to relate to others and use assertive communication skills. Each session will start with a meditation or mindfulness activity to help students disconnect from the business of their day and tune into themselves. Students should leave the group with an increased understanding of themselves and the ability to express and cope with their emotions. All necessary supplies will be included!
