A fun introduction to how to perform improv comedy! Learn the basic concepts and skills of successful improv. Five days of improv instruction ending on the final day with an improv comedy showcase that students perform live on stage for their family and friends! Unleash the funny creative in you, gain more confidence on stage and have an absolute blast while doing it! Have you watched the comic performers on shows like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and wondered, “How are they so funny making up things on the spot?” Well, now you can learn how! Learn the basic concepts and skills of successful improv comedy which include “Yes, And,” listening, making emotional choices and the importance of character or point of view. This week long summer camp is five days of improv instruction and ends with a live improv comedy showcase on stage in front of family and friends. Unleash the funny performer inside of you by practicing how to think quickly on your feet. Learn to trust yourself and your innate creative ability, gain more confidence and comfort on stage, and improve your listening and observation skills, all while having an absolute blast! No previous improv comedy training or experience needed for the class. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for moving about on stage. Bring water bottle, notebook and pen for taking notes.
