This hands-on, project-based club is designed for students in K–2nd grade to explore coding and robotics through LEGO Robotics and MIT Scratch Jr. Students will build and program age-appropriate LEGO robots while developing early engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. They will also use Scratch Jr to create interactive stories, games, and animations while learning foundational coding concepts such as sequencing, events, loops, and cause and effect. Through creative challenges and engaging, age-appropriate projects, students will strengthen their confidence, collaboration, and independent thinking. No prior coding or robotics experience is required. Parents will receive regular ClassDojo updates highlighting completed projects and lessons learned. The semester will conclude with a fun Carnival Day featuring unplugged STEAM activities and opportunities for students to use their earned class points to “purchase” prizes, celebrating their learning, effort, and teamwork.
