About This Activity

This full-day experience blends robotics engineering with real-world entrepreneurship—perfect for older campers ready to build, design, innovate, and present their ideas with confidence. Morning: Hummingbird – Robo-Creature Lab Campers begin each day in the robotics studio, using the Hummingbird Robotics Kit to design and program their own interactive robotic creatures. They experiment with motors, LEDs, sensors, and block-based coding to bring their designs to life—whether it’s a mythical dragon, a futuristic animal, or a creature all their own. Students practice engineering design thinking, creativity, and iterative problem-solving as they construct and refine their robo-creatures throughout the week. Afternoon: Young Entrepreneurs Academy In the afternoon, campers shift into entrepreneurial mode as they develop a business concept built around a product, service, or even their morning robotics creation. They explore target audiences, simple budgeting, pricing, prototyping, and branding as they turn imaginative ideas into practical plans. With guidance and teamwork, students strengthen communication and leadership skills while preparing a polished pitch. The week culminates in a Shark Tank–style presentation, where campers pitch their entrepreneurial ideas to a friendly panel for feedback and celebration. By the end of camp, students leave with a fully engineered robo-creature, a thoughtful business concept, and the confidence that comes from creating and presenting a vision from start to finish. Pack a thermos and lunch for your learner to enjoy a lunch break between sessions. Parents will receive daily updates on your child's learning and projects.
