About This Activity
Get ready for high-energy engineering fun! In this action-packed robotics camp, students build, code, and compete with their very own LEGO Spike Sumo Bots—robots designed to push, dodge, and outsmart opponents inside the Sumo ring. Campers are grouped by age and experience so everyone learns at the right level. Younger builders focus on foundational engineering, motors, sensors, and simple block-based coding, while older students explore more advanced design strategies, gearing, and programming techniques to optimize their bots. Throughout the week, campers test their designs, refine their robots, and develop smart battle strategies. The camp culminates in a friendly Sumo Bot Tournament, where students showcase creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as their robots enter the ring. By the end of camp, every participant leaves with increased confidence, improved engineering skills, and a Sumo Bot they built and programmed themselves—making this an exciting challenge for all ages! Parents will receive daily updates on your child's learning and projects.
