LEGO Sumobots is an action-packed, competitive robotics experience where engineering meets head-to-head strategy! In this high-energy club, students step into the roles of mechanical engineers and autonomous programmers to design, build, and program their very own robotic wrestlers. Here is what makes this club an absolute blast for young innovators: • The Ultimate Engineering Challenge: Students build heavy-duty, reinforced LEGO robots engineered specifically for power, stability, and defense. • Smart Autonomous Coding: Young programmers use light, color, and ultrasonic sensors to code their bots to automatically track opponents and detect the ring's boundaries. • High-Stakes Sumo Battles: The excitement peaks in the Sumo Ring, where custom bots face off to see which machine can cleverly push the other out of bounds. • Iterative Design Strategy: Between matches, teams analyze their bot's performance, instantly rewriting code and modifying armor plates to outsmart their rivals. In addition to technical skills, students will strengthen creativity, communication, teamwork, perseverance, and confidence through engaging, project-based learning. ClassDojo will be utilized to provide parents with updates after each class. During the final class, students will celebrate with a Carnival Day featuring unplugged activities and the opportunity to use their earned class points for prizes.
