About This Activity
Dates: June 17-21 2024 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (extended care available for additional cost) Regular drop-off is from 8:45 - 9:00 a.m. and pickup is from 4:00 - 4:15 p.m. Extended care must be arranged in advance and is available beginning at 7:45 a.m. and ending at 5:15 p.m. for an additional $50 flat fee with any enrollment. Note: On Wednesday, June 19 only, extended care will end at 4:45pm as JHS will be closing early due to the Juneteenth holiday. All children enrolled in extended care must be picked up by 4:45pm on June 19. Extended care hours will return to normal (7:45am-5:15pm) on Thursday, June 20. Snacks and Meals: Campers must bring a lunch and a water bottle. One snack will be provided to all campers each day of camp. The Kona Ice truck will visit JHS during camp on Thursday. If you would like your child to be able to purchase a shaved ice from the truck, please send them to camp with $3-$6 cash (depending on the size they would like to purchase). All campers will enjoy a pizza party lunch provided by Papa Johns on Friday. Week 2 Camp Themes by Group: Compassionate Kids – Grades 1-2 What does it mean to be compassionate, caring and kind? How can we show compassion to animals and neighbors in our community? Learn more about our JHS motto "Generosity Breeds Joy" while you interact with our furry friends. Adventures in Generosity – Grades 3-5 There's nothing better than helping an animal or a friend! If you love to help people and pets, this is the camp for you. We will learn about the best ways to give back to our pets at home, pets in need and pets in the community while spending time with the dogs and cats at JHS. Joy in Giving – Grades 6-8 Can kids make a difference? Can they volunteer, give, advocate and change the world? Absolutely! This week, join us for an exploration into the world of animal welfare as we learn the different ways you can provide help right here in Jacksonville for pets in need.
