About This Activity
Led by Chelsye Ginn Step into the spotlight with our Introduction to Musical Theatre for 3rd-6th graders! Young thespians will dive into the dazzling world of musical theatre in this dynamic program. Through creative exercises, they'll stretch their imaginations, bringing characters and stories to life through song, dance, and dialogue. As they explore choreography and dive into vocal techniques, these budding performers will discover new ways to express themselves. From show tunes to dance numbers, each activity is designed to boost confidence and nurture all-around theatrical talents. While we won't be staging a full production, students will have exciting opportunities to explore scenes and segments from various musicals and plays. They'll learn the basics of stage presence, character development, and how to tell a story through song. These rising stars will learn to shine in the spotlight and work together to create musical magic. The program culminates in our annual Performing Arts Showcase, where students will present one carefully selected scene in front of a large audience. It's the perfect opportunity for our young performers to demonstrate their newly acquired skills and share their passion for musical theatre. In-person courses will follow the school’s schedule for holidays and school closures.
