Students will build a tissue-paper lantern inspired by the shapes they see in the world. Lessons focus on modern art and mathematics skills. Inspired by the work of Picasso, Matisse, Munoz, Grandma Moses, Warhol, and Mondrian, we will use geometric shapes, color theory, and observational analysis in the design. Each student will create up to four unique panels, assemble them, and take home a finished lantern at the end of the week. This class is suitable for all ages K-6th. Instructor: Caragh O'Connor
