About This Activity
In these two sessions we'll talk about what makes a personal essay, exploring some of the variations of the genre. We'll try out some of the approaches to essay writing and the stages from drafting to editing. Strategies for revision will be explored and shared, along with approaches to collecting or combining individual pieces into longer works. Both classes will include writing exercises. The second session we will delve into the sentence level approach to writing, useful for writing that extends beyond the essay.
