Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. KCYA's August Production of Little Mermaid, Jr. will be for ages 11-17. If there are older siblings or friend groups that would prefer to be together, we recommend that they join the June production. Older students are permitted to join the June production; however, younger students will not be permitted to join the older production in August. There will be a minimum of 11 students needed for this production. Camp rehearsals will begin on Monday, July 27 Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday 4:30PM-8:00PM Saturday, August 1st 10AM-1PM Saturday, August 8th 10AM-1PM Performances will be on Friday, August 14 at 6PM and Saturday, August 15 at 2PM AND 6PM Students will stay at KCYA between Saturday performances for celebratory pizza. **Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th are potential Make-Up Days** There will be a Virtual Parent Meeting on July 24th @ 6:30pm -- Invites will be sent via Email. -- Invites will be sent via Email. Note: Not all students will receive a speaking role for this production, however, all students will receive 50.5 hours of in-depth theatre, vocal, and dance instruction If your student has scheduling conflicts or will not be available during for the first week of rehearsal or the last week of camp (tech week) please contact our office before proceeding to enroll.
