About This Activity
You want your child involved in something creative and meaningful—but finding an activity that fits your schedule, keeps them engaged, and builds real skills isn’t easy. Too often, kids get bored, fall behind, or lose confidence when programs move too quickly—or not quickly enough. And it’s frustrating to invest time and money into something that doesn’t truly stick. Our School Year Sewing Classes are designed to be different. Built for busy families, this flexible, self-paced program allows each student to learn at the pace that’s right for them—whether they’re ready to move ahead or need time to build confidence. Students (ages 8–18, after completing a Beginner’s Workshop) attend once a week for 75 minutes over a six-week session. They follow a proven, skill-building curriculum and typically complete two projects per session—including a clothing item—so they’re always creating something they’re proud of. Because the curriculum is continuous, students can join, progress, and take breaks as needed without falling behind. Small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio ensure each child gets personalized support. The result? A child who feels capable, creative, and confident—and a parent who knows their investment is worthwhile. Without the right environment, kids often give up before experiencing the joy of creating something on their own. With the right guidance and pace, they don’t just learn to sew—they discover what they’re capable of. Materials & Tools All fabric and project supplies are included. Students should bring a basic sewing toolkit (available for purchase through the Sewing School). Sewing machines are provided, though students may bring their own if it’s in good working order. Personal machines must be brought consistently, along with extra compatible bobbins.
