About This Activity
We are excited to reimagine this program into a more comprehensive theatre experience for our students! Rather than focusing solely on rehearsing and performing a musical, we will be transforming the program into an all-encompassing Theatre class that gives students the opportunity to explore so many different aspects of theatre throughout the year! Students will dive into: - Acting & Character Development: Building confidence, exploring characters, and developing storytelling skills. - Voice & Musical Theatre: Working on vocal technique, musical storytelling, and singing both individually and as an ensemble. - Dance & Movement: Exploring choreography, movement, and physical storytelling. - Theatre Games & Improv: Building creativity, collaboration, and confidence through fun drama activities. - Behind-the-Scenes Theatre: Special workshops throughout the year exploring costume design, technical theatre, and other elements that bring a production to life! And yes, there will still be a performance! Throughout the year, students will work together to create an end-of-year showcase that highlights the skills they've developed and all students will be featured! We want students to have a voice in what they create and the opportunity to help shape a performance that feels uniquely theirs!
