Directed by Joey Sponseller The Taming of the Shrew is a fast-paced comedy about power, gender, and marriage. When the sharp-tongued Katherina must be married before her younger sister Bianca can wed, the bold Petruchio steps in, determined to “tame” her. Through disguises, mind games, and exaggerated performances of control, the play explores whether love is about dominance, partnership, or performance—often leaving audiences debating who’s really in charge. Whether it's your first time working with the Bard, or you are a seasoned pro - there's a place for you! Newer students will work on ensemble and small featured roles while experienced students can explore hefty monologues and iconic roles. Auditions and placement will occur during the first rehearsal. Some rehearsal conflicts will be accepted, but students should be available for most sessions. Students will be given their call for the coming week by Thursday evening. No conflicts are allowed for tech week or performances.
