About This Activity
Nevermore Academy is an academic institution that nurtures outcasts, freaks and monsters. Applications are open to werewolves, vampires, sirens, gorgons, and anyone else with unnatural abilities. In this one-week acting camp, we’ll create a parody play inspired by the dark academia and supernatural genres. We’ll use popular Netflix series “Wednesday” as inspiration, but knowledge of the show is not needed as we’ll also mine from the campers’ dark imaginations to create a brand-new chilling story. In Change It Up Camp students create and perform a world premiere in one week! We will create a parody version or popular story or genre, and learn the acting skills to bring it to life under the direction of professional theater artists. Then, after rehearsing our original script, we’ll premiere it on the final day of camp for our family and friends.
