This hands-on workshop combines the ancient art of suminagashi paper marbling with beginner-friendly bookbinding. Participants will first learn to float ink on water, creating ethereal, one-of-a-kind marbled prints. In the second half, these unique designs are transformed into handmade journals using a simple saddle stitch. Move from experimental making to a finished, functional object perfect for sketching or journaling. Accessible and engaging, this class is designed for all experience levels. Jade is a visual artist, designer, and educator based in Kittery, ME. Her work explores ritual, community, and sacred space through color, pattern, and form across ceramics, printmaking, design and teaching.
