About This Activity

Dungeons & Dragons after-school campaign held at Crestview. Important: You must be a student at Crestview to enroll. 8 sessions starting February 4: Feb 4, 11, 18, 25 March 4, 11, 18, 25 • Wednesdays, 3:30 - 5pm • Grades: 2nd - 6th (classes grouped by age) • New Players Welcome! • 1:8 maximum Teacher/Student ratio Game Masters for Hire is thrilled to continue its popular After-School Adventures Program at Crestview Preparatory School! Students will create their own Dungeons & Dragons character and embark on a thrilling fantasy campaign where their choices and actions shape the story as they grow, overcome challenges, and level up! But the characters won’t be the only ones leveling up -- students will participate in enrichment activities designed to develop their creative skills. Lessons will cover such topics as character backstory, individual voice & dialog, dramatic choice, improvisation (using “yes, and”), art, and more. Lessons are designed by sci-fi & fantasy television writer Oliver Grigsby (Heroes, Star Trek: Picard, Magic: The Gathering), who brings 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and combines it with his love of Dungeons & Dragons to teach students how to craft epic and character-rich stories. Classes are taught by our expertly trained Game Masters, all of whom are Entertainment Industry Professionals (writers, editors and actors). With a maximum of 8 students per instructor we ensure that each student receives the attention they deserve. Students will create heroes, battle fantasy monsters, solve puzzles and bring their characters to life in an ongoing story shaped by their contributions. For 50 years Dungeons & Dragons has provided a creative outlet for kids and safe and welcoming social setting. A team sport where the knee injuries are only pretend and can be cured by a healing potion or friendly cleric.
