About This Activity
Come sing, dance, and act as you perform in NEWSIES JR, based on the popular movie! This class is open for kids 7-14 years old and are taught by award winning theater professionals. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right. Auditions and callbacks will be on the first day of rehearsal, so you will leave knowing your role! Every person will have a named role and lines. Space is limited to 35 people on a first come, first serve basis. Tuition is $395 and we offer sibling discounts. (Company members-$300) Thursdays 4:30-7:30 and Saturdays 9am-12pm.
