About This Activity
Fairies and mortals wanted! Hear ye, hear ye! All Athenian citizens ages 3rd-8th grade are hereby summoned to the Dreamers Theatre troupe! Budding thespians will prepare an abridged performance of Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream to perform at the Memorial Park Stage at Columbian Park. Through theatre games, warm-ups, auditions, and rehearsals, students will unlock the humor and fun in Shakespeare’s poetic language. Actors will take on the roles of Lysander, Hermia, Puck, and Titania as they rehearse funny scenes playing star-crossed lovers and mischievous fairies. Campers will also design and craft their very own costumes and props to bring the Bard’s words to life. Crafts, stage combat choreography, and final dress rehearsals promise non-stop merry mischief. The big finale? The student’s interactive comedy performance at Columbian Park on the Memorial Park Stage! Join us for a camp experience packed with hilarity and fun for all ages!
