Vocal Arts Camp: An immersive vocal coaching program in a vibrant community. Vocal Arts Camp is a summer music program for 9-12th grade students who want to deepen their singing experience. Vocal Arts Camp features private voice lessons plus workshops in music theatre, and choir. The program is open to any level of musician; faculty meet each student where they are and take them to the next level. At Vocal Arts Camp, participants also participate in acting, yoga, and dance to broaden their horizons and find new ways to learn about the extended art of singing and performing. Participants are guided by faculty directors and a full-time counseling staff of current UL Lafayette undergraduate and graduate students. All workshops and lessons are led by current UL Lafayette faculty. Participants are placed with a private lesson teacher upon their arrival to camp and prepare solo pieces alongside their group activities, to present at a final presentation onstage at Angelle Hall, which is open to friends and family. VAC offers two experience options for students: 1. COMMUTER: Commuters participate in all activities 9am-4pm including lunch, all covered by the registration fee. 2. RESIDENTIAL: Residents participate in all activities 9am-4pm and three meals per day, all covered by the registration fee. Residents stay overnight in the dorms supervised by counseling staff and University housing personnel. Residential campers also engage in organized social activities including karaoke, swimming, and camp games. LOCATIONS OF THE CAMP - Angelle Hall, McLaurin Hall, Student Union & Burke Theatre
