Join us for the second annual UL Summer Piano Camp, featuring four exciting days of classes, lessons, group activities, games, and exploration of piano playing nuances! Open to students in grades 4 through 12 with prior piano experience. UL FACULTY Korean-American pianist and educator Dr. Chee Hyeon Choi is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has made significant appearances on national and international stages. Dr. Choi was honored with the Teacher of the Year award by the Illinois State Music Teachers Association, where she held the positions of VP-Conferences and President-Elect. She has been a piano faculty at the Illinois Summer Youth Music program. Dr. Choi founded and directs the UL Piano Institute. An active recitalist, Chan Kiat Lim has performed solo and chamber recitals in Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Malaysia, and throughout the United States, including solo performances at Music at Penn Alps Concert Series in Maryland and a return to Steinway Hall, New York City, in December 2011. Lim’s interest and research in Twentieth-century music—particularly by American composers—and piano pedagogy have resulted in invitations for presentations and masterclasses at regional and national levels. A native of Malaysia, Lim received his music certifications in piano, violin, and theory from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), London, and the Trinity College of Music, London. He received his Master's and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music as a scholarship student of Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff.
