About This Activity
Over 2 weeks, students will work with the instructors to create a 3 minute stage combat presentation for the May Gala. On rehearsal day one, students will learn routines and audition for their parts in the gala. Instructors: Bruce Nguyen and Kayla Lopez Bruce Nguyen is a martial arts instructor with over 35 years of experience in Japanese Karate, along with extensive training in Aikido and classical Kenjutsu. He specializes in translating traditional martial arts principles into safe, dynamic, and storytelling-driven stage combat. Bruce’s teaching emphasizes control, partner awareness, and clear movement mechanics to help performers create believable fight scenes. Class Schedule 4/25 5p-7p 4/26 2p-4p 5/2 5p-7p 5/3 2p-7p 5/4 5:30-7:00p 5/6 5:30-7p Gala Performance: 5/8/2026 Tuition is free for current Year-Long or current Spring Conservatory Students in Levels 1-6 with code (and a refundable deposit of $25 - this is to help prevent no-shows. If students register and do not attend, the deposit will not be returned). This class is NOT open to current Non-Conservatory students. Please note: Active may charge a processing fee for registrations.
