Club SciKidz’s 3D Printing with Minecraft is a cutting-edge STEM program that teaches the full lifecycle of product design—from concept and digital modeling to physical production. Using Minecraft Education Edition, campers explore the relationship between digital biomes and real-world architecture before transitioning into 3D design logic. Core Learning Objectives: Minecraft "Structure Block" Mastery: Campers learn to use advanced in-game tools to select and export their Minecraft builds into professional file formats (like .OBJ or .STL). CAD Design & Optimization: Students use Tinkercad to refine their models, learning about "manifold" geometry, scale, and structural integrity to ensure their digital builds are actually "printable." Additive Manufacturing Technology: Campers get hands-on experience with 3D Printers. They learn how to load filament, level a print bed, and use "slicing" software to prepare a model for production. Rapid Prototyping: Just like real-world engineers, campers will participate in "Build Battles" and design challenges, testing their creations and iterating on their designs to solve specific mechanical problems. Quick Facts for Busy Families STEM.org Accredited: Our curriculum is recognized for excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education. Physical Take-Homes: Every camper will have the opportunity to 3D print their own designs, taking home tangible proof of their engineering progress. Small Group Ratios: Due to the specialized nature of 3D printing equipment, we keep class sizes small to ensure every child gets ample "printer time." Flexible Scheduling: Programs typically run Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with Pre-Camp (8:00 AM) and Post-Camp (5:30 PM) options available for working schedules.
