The third of our six skill levels, Young Ballers is designed for players who have mastered the fundamental aspects of the game and are ready to take on combos, finishing moves, and more advanced footwork. Most of our athletes in this group fall between the ages of 9 - 12, but ultimately, it is the skill level we organize athletes by. Ball Handling Focus - Stationary and two-ball dribbling series to build hand-eye coordination and control in both hands - Change-of-pace and change-of-direction combos (crossover, in-and-out, hesitation) performed in tight space - Pound-dribble and pocket-dribble control to build a low, protected handle Shooting Focus - Form-shooting progression, moving from close-range mechanics out to game range - Footwork and balance on the catch — hop and step-in timing - Catch-and-shoot repetition from stationary spots, plus a free-throw routine Our six class levels are based on ability, but here are approximate ages for each level: Jr Dribblers (ages 4 - 7) Lil Ballers (ages 6 - 10) Young Ballers (ages 9 - 12) High School Prep (ages 11 - 14) Varsity Prep (ages 13 - 16) College Prep (Ages 15 - 18)
