About This Activity
Camp Starlight is presented in collaboration with the Michigan Dyslexia Institute (MDI) for children with dyslexia. This overnight camp gives children with dyslexia the transformational camp experience they’ve been looking for. They’ll make memories to last a lifetime among campers with similar life experiences to their own. Camp Starlight campers get to participate in a transformational camp experience, which builds confidence, grows self esteem and creates a sense of belonging. Campers will build friendships through our positive, safe environment with role models and their peers. Campers return year after year and develop lifelong friendships, many have even become staff members at Mystic Lake. Mystic Lake staff members are trained by the Michigan Dyslexia Institute in inclusion and strategies to support your child. An experienced staff, engaging opportunities, new experiences, and a beautiful location are the ingredients for an outstanding week at Camp Starlight. Note: Children registered for Camp Starlight will be in cabins with both Camp Starlight campers and children registered for Mystic Experience.
