About This Activity
In this half-day camp, players will strengthen their Rocket League skills while exploring the teamwork, strategy, and fast-paced decision-making behind this popular competitive game. The camp is led by a former collegiate esports player and coach who will guide campers through gameplay, positioning, and collaboration, with St. Edward alumnus Mike Newton ’12 also on site throughout the camp. Newton, the owner of Ethlete Lab Academy and former head coach of the Golden State Warriors’ NBA 2K League affiliate, led his team to the 2023 NBA 2KL Championship and will share insights into the esports industry, including networking opportunities and pathways to competitive and professional play. Rising seventh and eighth-graders who attend Get the Edge Enrichment Camp in the morning can bring lunch, eat with friends, and then be transported to Ethlete for this afternoon session. All experience levels welcome.
