Get ready to step into a magical world of your own creation in Fiber Fantasy Fun! In this summer camp, teaching artist Melly Kellogg will teach the basics of hand-sewing while guiding campers in developing a character and creating the foundation pieces for a fun fantasy costume. Campers will start by making hand-embroidered crowns, then move on to designing custom costume wings—anything from fairies to dragons and beyond! From planning to finished product, this camp is designed to inspire young sewists and show just how creative sewing can be. PLEASE NOTE: Students must be able to tie their shoes independently to enroll in this camp. Because we will be practicing basic hand-sewing skills, including tying knots, this level of dexterity is important. Students who are not yet comfortable with these fine motor skills may find some activities frustrating, which could affect their overall enjoyment of the creative process. Full and Partial Scholarship options are available! Scholarship item will appear during checkout if you complete the scholarship section of registration and are eligible.
