About This Activity
Description
We're sorry, but this class/activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, April 2, 2022.
At the Y, our youth soccer league helps 5 to 6 year-olds develop fundamental soccer skills while teaching teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Skills taught include passing, shooting, dribbling, and the rules of the game. The focus of our youth soccer leagues is to have fun, meet new friends, and play.
Practice once a week and games on Saturdays.
What Do I Need:
Please have your child bring their own ball, wear shin guards(mandatory), athletic clothes and cleats (optional). You should also have them bring a water bottle. Please clearly label all items you send with your child.
Spectators should bring a chair to use when watching the games or practices. Please practice social distancing at all times.
Volunteer Opportunities:
YMCA sports are based on seven guiding principles: everyone plays, safety first, fair play, positive competition, sports for all, sports for fun, and family involvement. Our leagues are supported by parent volunteers who are engaged as coaches, and raving fans.
If you are interested in being a volunteer, please contact Sandra Reierson at sreierson@suncoastymca.org or 727-559-0500. There is also an area for you to indicate your volunteer interest when you are registering your child.
IMPORTANT CHANGE: This program has now changed to a 6 week clinic focus. Please contact for more information 727-559-0500.
Any additional questions, please contact member services at 727-559-0500.
